Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate effect of aging treatment on the flexural properties of implant provisional restoration materials. Three different resins, one self curing resin (PMMA), one dual curing resin (Bis-acrylic composite), and one CAD/CAM PMMA block, were used in this study. After aging treatment dried at 37¡É for 24 hours (24h) and immersed in 37¡É distilled water for 14 days after dried 37¡É for 24 hours (14d) for three different resin specimens, respectively, flexural strength test was performed with a universal testing machine (UTM) and the fracture surface of specimens was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Among experimental groups, CAD/CAM PMMA block was significantly highest flexural strength and flexural modulus values followed by dual curing resin, and self curing resin (p<0.001). Aging treatment did not significantly reduced the flexural strength, but significantly reduced flexural modulus. In the observation of fracture surface of specimens, there were no apparent differences in CAD/CAM PMMA block and dual curing resin by aging treatment. In self curing resin, crack appeared.
